Skipper Otto is a Community Supported Fishery, based in Vancouver. They create a direct connection between local fishermen and consumers and their main goals are protecting ocean resources and improving our local food system. Their Coho Salmon is one of the most sought-after types of salmon. Known fondly by anglers as a fierce fighting game fish, Coho are a coastal fish that spawns in rivers throughout the west coast. Coho has a mild and pleasant flavour, and is moderately fatty - containing more oil than Chum Salmon, but less than Sockeye and Chinook. It makes a great baked fish, works very well on the barbeque, and can be cold-smoked. Skipper Otto uses low impact fishing practices, offering sustainable and local Canadian seafood. Our Wild Salmon is delivered frozen and packed in an insulated cooler with ice packs. This ensures the fish stays sufficiently cold and provides you with flexibility on cooking time!
