Stasis began when owner Julian Katz took the leap from cooking in some of Toronto’s best kitchens, to taking his passion for food in another direction - starting Stasis Preserves in 2010. Focusing exclusively on local produce and working with small local farmers, the jam, pickle, and chutney line launched at Brickworks Farmer’s market, and quickly after the St. Lawrence and Trinity Bellwoods Farmer’s markets. In December 2011, Julian opened Stasis Local Foods. Located at 476 Roncesvalles Ave and open 7 days a week, it is a one stop shop for all locally sourced, locally made, top quality foods. With a small, dedicated team of food lovers and enthusiasts, Stasis strives to offer you the best selection of foods available and share where they come from, and why you’re going to love eating them with family and friends.
Stasis' goal is to share the best quality, most delicious local foods with you. They source locally and cook everything fresh so that it is healthy, sustainable, and delicious. They source at peak season for maximum flavour and nutritional benefit. They do not add any artificial additives or preservatives, and strive to use only natural, healthy approaches to highlight the bounty of Ontario and enable you to eat local all year!
