This year marks our 10th growing season at our urban farm in Downsview Park where we have a two acre field and 3000 sq ft greenhouse. We also have a greenhouse and small plot in Etobicoke, right beside Highway 427.
Our farm operates year round, producing over 20,000 lbs of organically grown vegetables and herbs. In the winter we use the greenhouse to grow microgreens and salad greens, and in the summer we grow over 30 varieties of vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, beets, garlic, carrots, and more!
We believe in connecting people to locally grown, organic food, and educating them on the positive impacts organic farming can have on the planet. By using organic and ecological growing methods at our farm, we can improve the health of our soil which improves the health of our planet! Healthy soil captures carbon and soaks up water like a sponge, which means we can directly remove carbon from the atmosphere and we can use less water to irrigate. And of course, not only is super local food super fresh, but it also doesn't travel very far to get to you!
