About the Weekly Sprout Subscription
Sprouts and microgreens are the young seedlings of edible vegetables and are a complete and nutritionally beneficial food. Sprouting a seed releases the stored energy in the seed and makes it bioavailable for digestion. As a result, sprouts and microgreens are higher in protein and contain more bioavailable vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than non-sprouted seeds. They also contain more nutrients than the mature vegetables themselves. Click here to add this subscription to your bag now or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Sprouts and microgreens are not only a super-food, but are also delicious and easy to include in your everyday diet. Each sprout and microgreen has its own unique flavour that can be used in various ways. They can be added to salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, stir fries and pasta dishes. Best of all, sprouts and microgreens are available year-round from Living Earth Farm .
This subscription features the following sprouts and microgreens:
Green Kale Sprouts
Green kale sprouts are more mild, sweet and tender than the mature kale that we all have grown to love. These sprouts are a fantastic source of vitamins A, B-6, C and K and are a rich source of bioavailable minerals such as iron, potassium and manganese.
Mustard is among the strongest flavoured of the brassica family sprouts, with a spicy flavour that is a great addition to salads and sandwiches. These qualities help to account for the health benefits that are attributed to these sprouts, primarily immune support and improved digestive functioning.
Brassica Blend Sprouts
Brassica blend sprout mix includes broccoli, rapini, canola, radish, mustard and arugula sprouts. The brassica blend sprout mix provides large quantities of protein and antioxidants, as well as a flavourful crunch for wraps and sandwiches.
Buckwheat Lettuce Microgreens
Buckwheat lettuce is a lettuce-like microgreen that is very tender and has a mild lemon flavour. Buckwheat is not related to wheat despite the name, but it is actually related to rhubarb and sorrel. These microgreens are high in bioavailable protein, calcium, iron, zinc, potassium and B vitamins such as choline and inositol.
Arugula microgreens are a delicious peppery green that are great raw in salads and sandwiches or cooked in stir fries. These microgreens have a spicier flavour than mature arugula, so a small amount can easily spice up a dish. Arugula microgreens are high in vitamins A, C, K, bioavailable calcium, magnesium, manganese as well as antioxidants.
