On average, organically grown foods provide: 21% more iron, 27% more vitamin C, 29% more magnesium and 13% more phosphorus than their conventional counterparts.

6. Avoid GMOs.

While more research needs to be conducted into how genetically modified foods can potentially harm our health, it is certain that GMOs adversely effect the biodiversity of our crops (think monocrops!) and the sustainability of our ecosystems.

Organic farming increases the diversity of plants and animals because it relies less on chemicals and more on environmentally sustainable farming practices.

Organically raised animals are not given harmful antibiotics or growth hormones. They are not fed animal byproducts, which increase the risk of mad cow disease, and they are given more space and access to the outdoors to keep them healthy and happy.
